Welcome
I would like to welcome you to my website and invite you to view these pages to find out more about me and my role as a councillor. Please read my blog and feel free to contact me with your suggestions and comments.
I am one of your County councillors for Chester-le-Street West Central.
I was born in the Avenues, Chester-le-Street and brought up in Pelton Fell, attending Roseberry Infants, Juniors and the then Secondary Schools. After college I worked in hotels as a Housekeeper.
I joined the Labour Party at 18 years of age and the GMBU at 17, being the first Northern Regional Branch Secretary of the newly formed Hotel & Catering Section of the GMBU.
Married with three children. I was a founder Member of Chester-le-Street Traders Association, when I had a branch of my Printing Business in the Town.
I believe raising aspirations in children and young people is one of the most worthwile ambitions I have. As a local Magistrate I see my community from a view not many see and I can use these experiences in my Council duties.
I find being a Ward Councillor challenging but I am proud to represent Chester Central, West and Pelton Fell. I am excited for the future of local government.
