Art Gallery
Welcome to Durham Art Gallery
Durham Art Gallery is County Durham's largest modern and contemporary art gallery.
Over the coming months we have a wide range of exhibitions featuring at the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery.
Recording Britain showcases watercolours, prints and photography from the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum produced at the outbreak of the Second World War as part of a project to record the British landscape.
Over the summer, as part of the festival complementing the exhibition of the Lindsifarne Gospels in Durham, we have invited acclaimed photographer Sigune Hamann to create new work which responds to the theme of journeys and narratives, which are part of the history of the Gospels.
And to begin our Spring season we are inviting you to participate in an exhibition which explores ideas of migration and displacement and asks you to think about the ten things you would take with you were you forced to flee your home.
We have a lot of events for all ages taking place throughout the next few months, with art and craft activities for all ages during the school holidays, our ever popular Mini Artists sessions for the under 5's and art talks linked to the exhibitions. Visit our events page for more information.
It is also easier now to visit all the exhibitions at Durham Art Gallery by Purchasing an Annual Pass giving unlimited visits to the DLI for a whole year or a Culture Card which also gives unlimited visits to the DLI, Killhope and Binchester for a whole year.
