Getting Involved
Community involvement is at the heart of Durham Police Authority’s business and is reflected in the Authority’s vision:
“To be the effective voice of our communities in securing delivery of the highest quality policing”.
We are committed to involving communities across County Durham and Darlington in our work, to ensure that the publics’ views and local knowledge are taken into consideration when developing policing priorities for communities.
We do this in a number of ways through our:
- Police Community Consultative Groups.
- ‘Your Police, Your Say Days’ that precede our Police Authority and Committee meetings.
- Independent Advisory Groups set up to address specific issues.
- Youth Events.
- Surveys.
- Website where you can respond to our ‘Issue of the Month’ and submit your views via our online form.
- Participating in the engagement activities of our Partners e.g. the Miners Gala and Bikewise.
- Consulting the Citizens Panel and Business Community regarding the police budget preparation.
