Area Action Partnership Consultation Results
Seventeen large scale events and 73 other meetings with local groups have given the county council plenty of information to help make important decisions on the Area Action Partnerships (AAPs) in County Durham.
The county and district councils, and local voluntary groups consulted residents about AAPs which will play an integral role in the new unitary council. The AAPs will give local people the chance to guide the services they receive in their area and also to have a voice in the new unitary council.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this information.
Following the consultation events over the summer, we have produced a
consultation booklet.pdf (4 pages, 235kb) to provide an overview of the events and what people said about our plans.
Please note: The consultation booklet above should have made clear that Shildon was favoured by respondents as a focal point for a separate AAP. However, following a Cabinet recommendation, Full Council decided that Shildon should not have its own AAP, but make up part of a neighbouring Area Action Partnership in either Newton Aycliife or Bishop Auckland. There will be further consultation with people in the Shildon area about this issue over the coming months.
We have also typed up all the notes from the events so you can see exactly what was said in response to the consultation questions posed at each event, and the minutes of the relevant cabinet and full council are publicly available.
Simply find the area that you are interested in below, and open up the PDF file for a collation report for each event. You will also find reports from each of the consultation tables (there were usually around ten people to each table) from the events.
Alternatively, you can view the
consultation booklet.pdf (4 pages, 235kb) for information about the results of the consultation as a whole.
