Promoting Strong Healthy and Safe Communities

Membership

25 Non-Executive Members of the County Council and up to 6 non-voting Co-optees are members of the Scrutiny Committee for Promoting Strong, Healthy and Safe Communities.

Chairman’s Welcome

One of the strengths of County Durham is the tremendous sense of community of its residents. This sense of community includes looking after the most vulnerable people in our society. We also need to play our part in tackling crime and the fear of crime and improving the health of those who live in our County.

We keep these principles in mind in the work of this Committee.
