The Structure and How it will Work

Bringing the eight councils together to form one new unitary authority is a complex task.

We will manage the reorganisation through:

• An Implementation Executive of councillors, who will oversee the reorganisation and make the key policy decisions.
• A Joint Implementation Team of county and district council senior officers, who will advise councillors and implement policy decisions.
• Programme Boards and related workstreams, who will focus upon specific aspects of the reorganisation.
• A Programme office, which will manage and coordinate the overall programme.
