Who Stood

A record number of candidates stood in the May 1 elections for a seat on Durham County Council - and ultimately, a place on the county's new unitary council.

When nominations closed at noon, on Friday April 4, 404 valid nomination papers had been submitted for candidates to stand for election and contest the 126 seats in 63 electoral divisions.
